Careers Consultant / Business Analyst

Armstrong is an established, growing software integrator specializing in solutions for the not-for-profit community. We have a 10 year history of providing state-of-the-art software solutions including membership, accounting and internet applications. Armstrong is actively seeking experienced application consultants to perform analysis, implementations, technical support and training functions in client engagements.

We are looking for the individual who combines business savvy with good technical capabilities. The ideal candidate will meet with client management and staff in order to determine their future technology requirements and craft a business plan to meet those requirements. In addition, the candidate will assist the consulting team to implement and support Association Management Systems, data-driven web portals and content management with leading AMS providers. SQL, Crystal Reports, iMIS, VB, ColdFusion, .NET knowledge preferred.


Minimum Skills and qualifications required include:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Microsoft At least two years experience in the not-for-profit community focusing on processes and implementation.

  • Must have experience in working on small to midsize projects delivering results on time and within budget

  • Must have good oral, written and presentation skills

  • Must be able to work effectively in a small team environment


Financial Systems Consultant

We have an immediate need for an independent self-starter with computer consulting experience that will service our clients on-site in the Washington D.C. area.  Ideal candidate will be able to use accounting skills in conjunction with their understanding of software and computers. Candidate will provide on-site installation, configuration and support of financial system software and customer relationship management systems, training clients on those products and consult with customers on software customization and report design.  Candidate will be responsible for maintaining the client relationship, preparing project documentation and timely status reports on project related activity.

We are looking for talented, positive, self-motivated professionals who enjoy applying their talents to creatively solve customers’ business problems.  Candidate must manage projects to meet quality, scheduling and fiscal objectives. Additional responsibilities include conducting training seminars, including guiding customers through the conference room pilot process, creation of detailed operating procedures, data entry/conversion, cut-over planning and post implementation review


Skills and qualifications required include:

  • Minimum of 2 years of consulting experience

  • Microsoft Great Plains technical skills required

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Strong influence and negotiation skills

  • Excellent customer service skills


Experience with one or more of the following would be a plus: Crystal Reports, FRx, MS Project, MS SQL, Access, or Windows NT/2000.

Microsoft or Microsoft Great Plains certifications are highly desirable.

  • Must be able to develop leads, manage & correspond with prospects database & existing clients.
  • Must learn product presentations, assist with trade show activity, & with developing marketing programs.
